What I will be trying to do is improve my eldest son's levels of concentration by altering his diet.  I will try to be as objective as possible.  We will be tracking the following:
- Serum Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB)
- Weight (Measured at the same time every day)
- % Body fat
- Feedback about concentration levels and general well being from my son.
- Feedback from his mother (should be interesting)
- Diet

Research done by Jeff Volek and Stephen Phinney suggests that BHB levels above 0.7 could cause the brain to become more efficient.  Personal accounts by Peter Attia also attest to the fact that a heightened mental state is achieved   Cutting carbohydrates in an active boys diet will no doubt raise a few eyebrows but total calories will be maintained making up the shortfall with fat.

Basically we will be embarking on a Keytone diet which has been shown to have multiple benefits not least of which is obesity, heart disease, and even cancer. Suppressing the secretion of insulin is the key to running your body on your own fat, which leads not only to weight loss, but also to what I call “chronic health” and peak performance.  Both physically and mentally.

I plan to update every day or two, with a daily chart of what is happening in my and my son's life.  I figured I can't let him do it alone so we are in it together.  I will be referencing other interesting sources of information along and help you in your personal journey.

Let the fat eating begin.
